Yohji Yamamoto

Yohji Yamamoto, a member of the Japanese Wave, shocked Parisian audiences with his debut in 1981. Yohji's mastery of draping, or constructing clothes on the body, as well as his deep understanding of textile characteristics, is expressed through is long, flowing silhouettes. Yohji is well-known for his use of black wool gabardine, which he uses to sculpt dramatic and beautiful clothing.
